As an Indigenous design house it's very important to us to ensure that we keep the integrity of what we do for all of our clients, maintaining the representation of our people and culture is utmost in what we do.
Recently we were asked by the Yirrgandji Land and Sea Ranger service to design the brand and emblem for the work shirts and other collateral. Elders has a design in mind but didn't know how to get it to where they wanted. That were we come in as specialist in the Indigenous design area.
We started with the design that the elders had supplied and traversed through design element until we got a stage where the design was simple enough to exist as a emblem on a work shirt.
After a few sample were given to the elders and with some small modification we came up with a brand that combined their vision using traditional Aboriginal imagery designed in a contemporary way to produce a unique made with mean brand. That still has it's Aboriginal design artifacts in tact.
Importantly the brand can sit alongside the existing branding of their overaching organisation an is unique enough to stand alone while maintain it's connection. Perfect.
